Get involved
There are lots of ways parents, caregivers and other whanau members can get involved in the Brooklyn Early Childhood Centre.
It could be doing something little, like collecting milk bottle tops, shells or chocolate wrappers. Or helping with outings. Whanau can are encouraged meet other families, children and teachers at occasional social events, including the notoriously popular fish and chip nights.
Maybe you’re good with a hammer, brush or broom so can bring skills along to regular working bees. Or if you’re good at fundraising, writing grant applications is a big help. Perhaps you’ve got flair and energy so could run a fundraising event, like the Wind Walk held in 2008.
And don’t forget about the management committee which provides parental input into direction and management of the centre. Find out more about the committee.
